  • Little Flies!

    Little Flies!

I have faced an issue with little flies, at least two types, maybe three, for a couple weeks now. It began rather small and then escalated a couple days ago. In the beginning I just ignored it, then I began to look for the source. I have had an issue in the past, but that avenue was shut this time, then I thought it was a drain or two so I took care of those. This was a good move, to ensure no spreading, but after a few more days I realized it was not the source. I then started looking a few days later for the source again, because it was not getting better. At first I did not find one and then I went outside and realized an unnatural amount of these flies everywhere. So the source was outside my home. Later I came in and shut the only little window open. It had been open to let the swamp cooler work more efficiently. This reminds me of the Lord reminding me in this season to not just seek comfort alone. I then began to use some peppermint spray to get the flies to go and stay off me and some surfaces. Even though I have had the window shut for a few days the flies are still here though have diminished. It will take some diligence to see them gone and that window can not be opened, it opens over grass. It made the house a little warmer at first. Then along with cooler weather I found a way to open another door slightly that is over cement and have sprayed it with the peppermint from time to time too. I went on to discover faulty screening and that one type of fly just had direct access due to their size.

The reason I am sharing this with you is it was a sign in the natural to what was going on in the spiritual realm around me. Little flies had access and if left alone can create a problem. I had windows open and the enemy was just waiting for me to be vulnerable and counting on me not finding the source or just putting up with it. Well, I will not do either and I am growing in wisdom to realize when I am vulnerable to consult the Lord on what to do and make quick pivots as needed! I was made aware that the 2 windows were bitterness and then some lonliness that crept in after a while. I had been vulnerable and dealing with on going issues and forgiving, but somehow I was too focused on these areas, and so bitterness was here and the enemy doesn’t play fair he uses any access he can get. The flies are mostly gone now and I have learned a lot in this discomfort. I am grateful for the examples that I had in the natural to point to what was really going on. It has been weeks later after my initial writing. I will remember that God hears my prayers and moves, but he is interested in me getting free and closing the windows into my life. He came to set me free, not just to comfort, though he is so good at that!

  • Labor with Purpose and Determination!

    Labor with Purpose and Determination!

“Good morning Lord- what a beautiful day in the Center of My Garden.” He is on the ground, trowel in hand and beads of water are falling onto the planting. He is laboring for me, teaching me, and the intensity of the light is causing beads to fall from his forehead. “Lord your labor is watering the seeds. Will you teach me how to partner with you in your labor with purpose and determination, but not striving and on my own?” “Yes, watch me and follow. Do as I do,” he smiles. “Thank you Lord for showing me that you care for me so tenderly and faithfully. How I need your love!” And with that I get down beside him to work! I begin to sing “What a mighty God we serve.”

Something on my heart began yesterday. I was given such praise from the Lord and then I saw a scripture that seemed challenging and began to feel lacking, critical. I believe it is good to let scripture and truth pierce me and challenge me to grow, but I have been finding something else going on. It is comparison. Sometimes we are expecting things of ourselves and it is too much. God requires from us what we can do and have, yes he will challenge us at times to do more, but we can get overwhelmed with some things by expecting more than he is actually asking of us. It is something we do, listening and looking at what something looks like in another’s life, I am finding it is good to do what we can, but it wont be the same way always, in which others fulfill things. Now I am not talking about sin. God can be asking us to start small, in our eyes or others eyes, and often we can do something (acts of kindness etc.), but it looks different than the accepted normal way. I just want to challenge you to open up to seeing how the Lord has called you to fulfill his requests for you in your life. I am currently doing this. It can often begin in our own house or toward one person or situation. There are things that we overlook as well, we don’t deem them anything, but they are love and obedience and when we see the truth it makes it easier for us to let go of false expectations and continue on out of encouragement. I stopped to ask for how I am fulfilling the scripture and how I might continue too grow in it. And he showed me and I felt empowered instead of feeling unable like my feet hand been cut off beneath me. I pray for a revelation for you in this too that you might know the love and goodness of our God more fully!

  • A Somber Day!

    A Somber Day!

I approached the Master Gardener in the center of my garden today. I found him at work already and his face set to the work at hand.

Lord, what are we doing in the garden today? Learning. I need you to yield and grow. It is a somber day and important. Watch me and listen closely today. I will lead you! Yes Lord! This is where I picked up my rake with the Master Gardener and began to work along side of him, very closely.

Later in the afternoon: Lord shall I know why it is somber? Are there things to be left behind today or is it something else? What is important today? Are you asking or requiring something from me? Is there something you need or wish to show me? Lord show me, tell me, you can have it All! Well, Lord I will get back to work with you now! I trust you!

And as I was typing this out he told me what he wants from me today: TRUST!

    Wade in the River

Today I have gone down to the river to swim. There has been a long spell of learning this morning and growing. It has taken hard and dedicated work. I took time to sit and absorb all I learned, and now it is time to wade into the river and swim. I welcome the refreshment. It is important to continue on in the learning and standing my ground, but refreshment and rest are just as key! Friend I hope you live today! I have, and I pray you grow too!!!
